Hiking at Mount Niesen

Wer aufhört, besser zu werden, hat aufgehört, gut zu sein! (Philip Rosenthal)

About Me

Don’t judge a book by its cover.

I’m working as IT professional in the beautiful canton of Bern in Switzerland. I’m particularly fond of Open Source, and therefore like to work with it .

Currently I working as an Application Engineer in an Architecture Team. We do evaluating technology, concepts and best practices. But mostly we are just there to keep things running. I would say that we are enablers and empower our application developers to accomplish their missions.

At work I deal a lot with

  • Elasticsearch (Logstash, Filebeat, Kibana)
  • Linux Administration
  • Software Development
    • Java (Java EE, Spring)
    • Full Stack “Web-Gelumpe”
  • Docker Infrastructure
  • HP NonStop

The diversity in my office is amazing. Most of employees speak more than one language, given the fact, my office is in the bilingual area of Switzerland (German and French). It is a custom in Switzerland, if a french and german speaking employee meet, they talk in English, so that none of them can excel in their native language .

This site is in progress and always progressing. Life is fun, so far I’m not spending much time to do content providing. The universe is big, especially mastering one language is quite a challenge.

I recently migrated from WordPress to Jekyll, so some information may be inconsistent.
